Check Out New Emoji Announced By Apple

Just in time for Halloween, Apple is debuting hundreds of additional emoji that should land on iPhone and iPad tablet devices soon. According to the tech giant, some of the new emoji consist of new food pictogram representations, as well as fresh ones for mythical creatures and monsters (cutified, of course), and smiley faces that are more emotive. This latest batch of emoji is coming to Apple mobile devices by way of the upcoming roll out of iOS 11.1. This specific version is scheduled for deployment next week for developers and beta testers, at least for now.

Some may find the new emoji sort of familiar. This is because Apple has actually shown them before --  back in July earlier this year, the company previewed a number of new emoji that were supposed to launch within this year. About seven months ago, the Unicode Consortium granted approval to 69 new graphics and symbols that should arrive on smartphones and tablets devices in 2017. Some of Apple’s new emoji seem to be inconsistent with those okayed by the Unicode Consortium, but the differences are not very significant, varying only in terms of skin color and styles of hair.

Among the new ones that everybody should look out for characters that made their debut during World Emoji Day earlier this year. These include the bearded guy emoji, the zombie emoji, the lady with headscarf emoji, the breastfeeding emoji, the guy in lotus position emoji, and lots and lots of food emoji (pancake emoji, Chinese takeout box emoji, broccoli emoji). By the way, Apple also included the I Love You sign language symbol, because sometimes a heart symbol just ain’t enough.

As for new animal emoji, you get the dinosaur (Brachiosaur sauropod) emoji, the cricket emoji, the hedgehog emoji, the zebra emoji, and the giraffe emoji. For new object emoji, users might be delighted to know there are new pictogram representations such as the trench coat emoji, the winter gloves emoji, the winter scarf emoji, and even the baseball cap emoji. For those eager to check out the new mythical creature emoji, know that there is the mermaid emoji, the Dracula (vampire) emoji, the fairy emoji, and the wizard with a pointed hat emoji. Even sports related pictograms get updates with the curling emoji and the rock climbing guy emoji.
