Wireless Carriers Raising Prices

This week, wireless carriers announced their plans to increase their prices. Here is a short summary of these plan changes and what they mean to customers:

T-Mobile

T-Mobile has implemented a change to its Price Lock guarantee. As shared by The Mobile Report, the new Price Lock policy will affect new customers and service changes, which started on January 18.

If T-Mobile changes their plans that lead you to switch, its Price Lock policy will take care of your bill on your final month. But before you can get this, you will need to maintain good standing on your account and notify the Un-carrier 60 days before leaving the network.

AT&T

AT&T has raised prices on some of its plans. The price increase, however, is only 99 cents per line per month and is offset by an increase in hotspot data.

The affected plans are:

  • AT&T Value Plus VL: Now allows up to 10 lines (Previously AT&T Value Plus and limited to single line)

  • Unlimited Starter SL: Now comes with 5GB hotspot data (Previously Unlimited Start and 3GB hotspot data)

  • Unlimited Extra EL: Now comes with 30GB hotspot data (Previously Unlimited Extra and 15GB hotspot data)

  • Unlimited Premium PL: Now comes with 60GB hotspot data (Previously Unlimited Premium and 50GB hotspot data)

The priciest plan, Unlimited Premium PL, now also includes Dominican Republic in its list of countries with talk, text, and data.

These changes will be in effect starting March 5.

Verizon Wireless

Verizon Wireless also plans to raise prices on its older plans by $4 per line. This is one way of encouraging customers to switch to a newer plan, which comes with numerous perks.

The affected plans include 5G Get More, 5G Play More, 5G Do More, and 5G Start. The change will be implemented starting March 1.
