AT&T Unveils Build-A-Plan With a $15 Starting Price

AT&T is rolling out a new wireless option called Build-A-Plan, and the pitch is simple: let people shape their phone plan around what they need instead of locking them into the same setup every month. The company says the new plan will be available starting May 27, with pricing that begins at $15 a month.

Build-A-Plan is meant to give customers more choice, more control, and more value. AT&T says users will be able to add or remove services over time depending on their budget, lifestyle, and connectivity needs. The company is also framing the offer as a lower-cost way to get on what it calls America’s largest wireless network, and says the plan has the lowest entry price compared with T-Mobile and Verizon.

AT&T says the new plan is designed for people who do not want a one-size-fits-all option. In the company’s announcement, AT&T Consumer executive vice president and general manager Jenifer Robertson said many customers are being offered bundled plans with extras they are not asking for, while Build-A-Plan is supposed to give them more freedom to pay for what fits their lives month to month.

For customers, the main takeaway is flexibility. Someone who wants to keep costs down may be able to stay with a simpler setup, then make changes later if they want more features or data. AT&T is clearly betting that a plan built around adjusting from month to month will appeal to people who want tighter control over their wireless bill without giving up service on its network.
