T-Mobile lands top spot on two independent studies this week
It’s a victorious week for T-Mobile as it earned the top spot on the reports of two independent studies for its 5G network. The Un-Carrier has managed to keep its title as the carrier with the fastest and most available 5G network in the country.
Opensignal first released the results of its recent study, which revealed T-Mobile has the fastest 5G speeds and most available 5G network. This is the third consecutive quarter that T-Mobile was named as the titleholder by Opensignal.
A day after the report was released, another independent body released a report that agreed with Opensignal’s findings. According to Ookla’s study, T-Mobile customers get the fastest 5G speeds in the country. They also get to spend more time connected to 5G compared to the other customers. The reports of Ookla’s study gives T-Mobile the 6th year of holding the top spot for 5G speed and coverage.
Ookla’s report showed that T-Mobile has increased its 5G median download speed over 21% during Q2. The speed, now reaching around 100Mbps, shows that the 5G strategy of the Un-Carrier is working.
Meanwhile, Opensignal revealed that over the last three months, there has been an increase of nearly 23% in the average 5G download speeds of customers. Since the year started, this results in over 50% increase. The Un-Carrier credits the speed increase to the super-fast Ultra Capacity 5G network that they have continuously deployed across the country.
“T-Mobile customers are the clear winners coming out of these network reports, with unmatched 5G coverage and 5G speeds that keep getting faster. Our differentiated 5G strategy of first building a foundation of coverage and then adding a deep layer of speed with Ultra Capacity 5G focuses on what matters most for customers — coverage and speed. This is how you build a 5G network the right way and this is why T-Mobile is the leader in 5G.” – Neville Ray, T-Mobile President of Technology.
