Free Apple TV Ending for T-Mobile Customers in January

If you've been enjoying free Apple TV as part of your T-Mobile plan, get ready for a change to your bill. Starting January 1, 2026, the carrier will begin charging $3 per month for the streaming perk that's been complimentary since 2021.

As reported by The Mobile Report, customers spotted the upcoming charge on their account "Add-ons" page earlier this week. T-Mobile has also started texting affected subscribers to give them a heads up about the new fee.

Here's what's happening: Apple recently bumped its streaming service price to $12.99 per month—up from $9.99. Rather than absorbing that increase entirely, T-Mobile will now cover $9.99 of the cost while passing the remaining $3 along to customers. The perk applies to most premium plans including Go5G Plus, Magenta Plus, Magenta Max, and similar higher-tier options.

What makes this move surprising is that T-Mobile has historically covered price increases for included perks. The carrier still offers ad-supported Netflix at no extra charge on most plans despite multiple price hikes over the years. This time around, everyone with the Apple TV benefit (regardless of plan level) will see the added charge.

If you'd rather not pay the $3 monthly fee, you can remove the Apple TV add-on from your account through the T-Life app before the end of December. That way you won't see any charges when the new year rolls around.
