Verizon's New Home Internet Lite Brings Affordable 5G to Underserved Areas

Verizon just made home internet more accessible with a new budget-friendly option.
The wireless carrier is launching Verizon Home Internet Lite, a plan designed for people who don't need lightning-fast speeds but want reliable internet without breaking the bank. At $25 per month for a limited time, it's targeting households that have been stuck with outdated DSL or satellite connections, as well as anyone looking to save money on their monthly bills.
According to Verizon's announcement, the new Lite plan offers download speeds up to 25 Mbps (typically between 10-25 Mbps), which is enough for basic web browsing, checking email, and streaming shows.
The plan comes with 150 GB of full-speed data per month, and if you go over that limit, your speeds drop to around 10 Mbps—but you still get unlimited data, so you won't face overage charges. Verizon mobile customers can lock in the $25 rate for three years with a price guarantee.
The company says this is an average savings of more than $40 per month compared to standard satellite internet pricing. The plan includes a free router with easy self-setup, so you won't need a technician visit to get started.
Verizon is also offering additional discounts through its Verizon Forward program for customers enrolled in federal assistance programs like SNAP, bringing the price down to as low as $20 per month for eligible households.
The Home Internet Lite plan is available nationwide starting today.
