On the exterior, the Apple iPad with Retina Display looks a lot like its past generations. But despite the similarities, the iOS tablet is the first to have a beautiful 2048 x 1536 screen resolution brought about by its LED-backlit IPS LCD Retina Display. Officially called the Apple iPad 3, the tablet is powered by a 1GHz Dual-Core ARM Cortex-A9 and Apple A5X chip with 1GB of RAM and a Quad-Core PowerVR SGX543MP4 graphics processor. The tablet is available in three memory size options—16GB, 32GB, and 64GB. New for this generation is the improved 5MP rear-facing camera equipped with Geo-tagging, touch focus and 1080p video recording. A secondary 0.3MP VGA camera is available in front of the device. Apart from choosing the memory size, users get to pick from either black or white color options. With a non-removable Li-Po 11560mAh battery, the tablet is able to last up to 10 hours of talk time and 720 hours in standby mode. Upon unboxing, the tablet runs on iOS 5.1.
