Verizon is preparing to shut down its preloaded Message+ app on Android devices, transitioning users to Google Messages, the default messaging app for Android. Initially announced in early October with a shutdown date set for November 7, the closure has now been extended to December 9, 2024, as reported by Droid-Life.
After this new shutdown date, users will no longer be able to send or receive messages through Message+. Any messages scheduled for delivery after the app's discontinuation will not be sent. While Verizon hasn't provided a reason for the extended timeline, this delay offers additional time for users who have relied on Message+ for their messaging needs.
