T-Mobile’s Starlink Beta Rolls Out: Here’s How to Check If Your Phone Is Compatible

T-Mobile and SpaceX’s Starlink are making major strides in eliminating dead zones with satellite-powered mobile service. The beta program is now live, and T-Mobile is notifying users about device compatibility. Here’s everything you need to know.
What Is the Starlink Beta?
T-Mobile first announced its partnership with SpaceX in 2022, but the beta officially launched following a Super Bowl reveal. The service allows users to send texts via satellite, even in areas with no cellular coverage. Future updates will bring voice calls and data support.
For now, the beta is free for testers until the end of June, and even non-T-Mobile customers can sign up to try it out.
How to Check If Your Phone Works with Starlink
T-Mobile is sending emails to beta participants with instructions on how to verify compatibility. To check if your phone is supported:
-
Retrieve your device’s IMEI number (dial *#06# or find it in Settings).
-
Follow the link in T-Mobile’s email to enter your IMEI and check compatibility.
If your phone isn’t supported yet, don’t worry—T-Mobile is working with manufacturers to expand compatibility through software updates.
Pricing and Plan Details
Once the free trial ends, the Starlink service will be available at different price points depending on your carrier and plan:
-
T-Mobile Go5G Next customers: Free
-
Other T-Mobile plans: $15/month add-on
-
Non-T-Mobile customers: $20/month
-
New customers switching to T-Mobile: May get one year of free access
T-Mobile is actively working with phone makers to expand device support. If your phone isn’t compatible yet, keep an eye out for updates that may enable satellite connectivity.
With this beta, T-Mobile and Starlink are taking a huge step toward eliminating coverage gaps, ensuring users can stay connected anywhere. If you’ve registered, check your inbox and see if your phone is ready to join the next phase of mobile connectivity.
