AT&T pushing through with its 3G network shutdown schedule

Earlier this week, Verizon announced that they have pushed their 3G network shutdown to an indefinite date. But even though there is no specific date mentioned, the shutdown remains evident. Today, AT&T and Cricket Wireless have released more information about its 3G network shutdown schedule and it looks like it’s happening real soon.  

Verizon 3G network shutdown postponed to indefinite date

Verizon was supposed to shut down its 3G network by the end of 2019 but the schedule was pushed to the end of 2020. As revealed in a report, it looks like the wireless carrier is no longer in a rush to shutdown this network.

A few days ago, a document containing a list of devices that will lose support on T-Mobile’s network leaked to the public. 

According to the document, these are the devices that will no longer be supported:

T-Mobile is working on two new technologies to help improve the way emergency calls are handled. 

Earlier this week, the Un-carrier revealed these two technologies called the Location-Based Routing (LBR) and Next Generation 911 (NG911). Through these two technologies, the wireless carrier hopes to provide better service for emergency calls to be attended to as quickly as they can be.

Verizon’s 5G Nationwide now covers total of 230 million people

Verizon has expanded its 5G coverage to more areas in the US. According to their release, they have expanded both their low-band and mmWave coverage in the country. 

US Mobile increases data allotment on two plans

US Mobile has just revealed its latest update to two of the plans it offers. Customers will be pleased to know that these two plans now come with more data allotment. 

The two plans that the MVNO updated today include the following:

AT&T’s 5G+ network is now live in Chicago

AT&T has expanded its 5G+ network to Chicago. 

To be more specific, the network is now live in certain parts of downtown Chicago including The Loop, the United Center, and along the Magnificent Mile. Aside from 5G+, AT&T’s low-band 5G coverage can also be found in Chicago.
