T-Mobile officially announces plans to acquire Mint Mobile, Ultra Mobile

After earlier reports came out, we’re finally getting confirmation on T-Mobile’s plans to acquire Mint Mobile and Ultra Mobile.
A few days ago, T-Mobile CEO Mike Sievert made the announcement official. The executive talked about their plans to acquire Mint Mobile, Ultra Mobile and Plum. Sievert appeared in a video with one of Mint Mobile’s owners, actor Ryan Reynolds.
In the video, Sievert promised that they will continue Mint’s $15/month pricing. On the other hand, Reynolds joked that Mint’s “incredibly improvised and borderline reckless messaging strategy” will remain untouched as stated in their contract.
With the acquisition plans, Mint’s founders, David Glickman and Rizwan Kassim, will remain as the brand’s managers since Mint will operate as a separate entity. Reynolds will continue with the creative role of Mint.
The two expect the deal to close by the end of the year, once the regulatory review has been completed.
