After Otter Media buyout, AT&T could introduce another video streaming offering

Many are expecting major US wireless AT&T to soon acquire Otter Media, the video streaming joint venture it has with The Chernin Group. As soon as this happens, the number two mobile operator in the country will put itself in a good position to own a streaming distribution platform. Otter Media happens to own VRV, which not only hosts digital star network Fullscreen, but also popular anime service Crunchyroll.

Venmo introduces new debit card

Venmo, the mobile payments app owned by PayPal, has just officially unveiled a new debit card for consumers based in the United States. Basically this new debit card will allow users to complete payment transactions using their Venmo accounts anywhere in America where Mastercard is accepted. The new debit card can also be used at an automated teller machine (ATM) when withdrawing money from the Venmo’s account balance.

Report: AT&T facilities are used for NSA surveillance program

According to a report recently published by The Intercept, it appears that no less than eight facilities of major US wireless carrier AT&T are utilized for a surveillance program conducted by the National Security Agency (NSA). These facilities are said to be linked to an NSA initiative called Fairview, which began more than three decades ago, it seems that AT&T is the only wireless service provider tied to this program.

AT&T to launch $15 per month TV streaming service

But there is no HBO though.

Musical.ly’s streaming app Live.ly is no more

Yup, Musical.ly has decided to shut down Live.ly’s standalone mobile app in order to consolidate the service into the main Musical.ly app. As a live streaming app, Live.ly managed to last for a couple of years, but soon enough, the brand will be removed from Google Play and from the App Store.
