T-Mobile Will Shutdown Its 2G GSM Network in 2024

T-Mobile is getting ready to shut down its 2G GSM network. After launching in 1991, this is only a natural move for the Un-carrier as it makes room for the new standard 5G network.
If you are still using a 2G GSM device, you may have received a notice from T-Mobile via physical mail, email, or text. The notice says that you have until April 2, 2024 to make arrangements. Otherwise, your line will be canceled.
Customers who will be affected by the network shutdown will be given a free 5G smartphone. The options include the following:
-
OnePlus Nord N300 5G
-
TCL 30 XE 5G
-
Apple iPhone SE (2022)
These phones will only be free to customers who will be affected by the shutdown. If you did not receive a notice, you have nothing to worry about.
