AT&T To Launch Super-Fast GigaPower Broadband Service in Cupertino, CA

AT&T is taking its ultra-speedy gigabit broadband service and bringing it to the city of Cupertino in the state of California. Indeed, the major wireless carrier has announced that it has officially launched its U-Verse with AT&T GigaPower broadband network Monday in this Santa Clara County city. Verizon and AT&T Sue Over Net Neutrality

February was an historic month for internet users as the Federal Communications Commission ended a long battle with internet service providers over stricter internet regulation. According to the FCC, the newly passed rules will finally allow for net neutrality. This will deny service providers such as Comcast or Time Warner from discriminating what runs through their cables. The FCC adds that the new ruling will allow equal opportunity for internet speeds and access to websites for all customers.

Here Comes Vessel, A New Video Streaming Service That Will Compete With YouTube

It is high time YouTube encounters a competitor that perhaps might give it a run for its money. Or at least, shake things up a little bit. That new player is Vessel, which just launched very recently. Designed to compete directly with YouTube, Vessel's approach to video streaming is more of a temporary exclusivity type. Users will upload content to Vessel a few days before the same content appears on their regular YouTube accounts. Surprisingly, prominent YouTube users and other content creators (like TED Talks) have already signed up for Vessel.

FCC Details Its Net Neutrality Rules In 400-Page Document

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) officially released a 400 page PDF that states in detail the new and more rigid rules and regulations it has formulated for broadband services.

FCC Adopts Net Neutrality Rules

Ever since its existence, the internet has been labeled as free and open. Anyone can gain access to the internet for a nominal fee, or visit locations that provide free WiFi, and the internet up until now has been unregulated for the most part. Lately, there has been a lot of controversy regarding whether this will change. And today, the Federal Communications Commission voted to implement new net neutrality rules that will make sure Internet service providers will treat legal content equally. This is considered a win for most people as the internet will now stay fast, fair, and open.

Net Neutrality: What You Need To Know

The Federal Communications Commission, which is led by Tom Wheeler (appointed by President Barack Obama two years ago in 2013), will be voting this week on critical Internet regulations after one year of intense deliberation.

FCC Chief Proposes Strong Net Neutrality Rules

In what is being considered a major shake-up, the Federal Communications Commission’s chairman Tom Wheeler announced plans to propose new rules intended to block all wireless and internet providers from slowing, blocking, or showing discrimination against any consumer and their right to access any particular website they choose.
