Samsung rolls out Android 11 update to Galaxy Tab S7, S7+

Samsung has been busy rolling out the latest Android 11 OS to its different smartphone models. The latest to receive the update are its tablet models, the Galaxy Tab S7 and Tab S7+. The new update comes with the usual One UI 3.1 features and two additional features that Samsung has added for these devices.

Verizon Prepaid now offering 5G ultra-wideband support on new plan

Verizon has just included its 5G ultra-wideband support for its prepaid customers.

Recently, the wireless carrier announced a new $75/month unlimited data plan that comes with 5G ultra-wideband support. This is the only Verizon plan that includes 5G ultra-wideband support. With this, data speeds are a lot faster than LTE data.

Cricket Wireless will no longer activate new 3G customers starting January 19

Cricket Wireless is following the footsteps of its parent company, AT&T. 

According to reports, Cricket will stop activating non-HD Voice-capable and non-LTE-capable devices on its network starting January 19th. This is in line with their upcoming 3G network shutdown, which is expected to take place in February 2022. 

Verizon expands 5G service to more cities this January

Verizon is starting the year with more 5G network expansions in the country. 

As revealed by Big Red, they will be expanding coverage of their 5G Home Internet service to Arlington, TX, Miami, FL, San Francisco, CA, Anaheim, CA, and St. Louis, MO starting January 14. On January 28, Phoenix, AZ customers will also gain access to their very fast home internet service.

AT&T pushing through with its 3G network shutdown schedule

Earlier this week, Verizon announced that they have pushed their 3G network shutdown to an indefinite date. But even though there is no specific date mentioned, the shutdown remains evident. Today, AT&T and Cricket Wireless have released more information about its 3G network shutdown schedule and it looks like it’s happening real soon.  

Verizon 3G network shutdown postponed to indefinite date

Verizon was supposed to shut down its 3G network by the end of 2019 but the schedule was pushed to the end of 2020. As revealed in a report, it looks like the wireless carrier is no longer in a rush to shutdown this network.
