After earlier reports came out, we’re finally getting confirmation on T-Mobile’s plans to acquire Mint Mobile and Ultra Mobile.
A few days ago, T-Mobile CEO Mike Sievert made the announcement official. The executive talked about their plans to acquire Mint Mobile, Ultra Mobile and Plum. Sievert appeared in a video with one of Mint Mobile’s owners, actor Ryan Reynolds.
Earlier this week, Verizon Wireless customers experienced issues porting out of the network and even making feature and plan changes. There were also some users who reported having problems activating their devices.
A few days ago, T-Mobile customers experienced an outage. While there were some customers who were unable to make calls or do basic functions on their phones, there were others who lost service completely. And some users on an iPhone 11 did not default to the emergency SOS satellite indicator that their device should. Instead, they simply lost service without any explanation.
Visible, the Verizon-owned prepaid brand, recently partnered with a non-profit organization called Empower Work. The two have created a new social initiative program called Visible Impacts where they will help customers who were recently laid off.
T-Mobile was reported to be in the process of shutting down its brick-and-mortar stores early this year. Following these reports, T-Mo’s Consumer Group President, Jon Freier, released a statement discussing this change. But now, another report says that corporate-owned Metro by T-Mobile stores will be affected by the closure too.
