Mobile World Congress 2016: What To Expect From Mobile Manufacturers

The Mobile World Congress (MWC) is the biggest annual tech conference in the world that focuses on all things mobile. Like last year, this year’s event will take place in the beautiful city of Barcelona in Spain, and will host more than 250 tech companies and almost 800 wireless carriers. So what can we expect to find in this year’s MWC? Here is the rundown.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge

TextNow Wireless Debuts Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, International Calling

Mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) TextNow Wireless presents a couple of treats for its customers. Firstly, the wireless carrier is now selling one of Samsung’s flagship devices, the Galaxy S6 Edge, for a price of only $299.99 refurbished. And secondly, the mobile service provider is also launching its free international calling service.

Facebook Now Exploring SMS Integration For Messenger; Introducing Support For Multiple Accounts

According to the world’s most popular social media platform, it is already exploring a way in which mobile users can receive, read, and reply to their SMS driven conversations within the Facebook Messenger app for smartphones and tablet devices. If this feature is deployed widely, it will be made optional to users, basically serving as a new option especially for those who want to try something other than their default text messaging application, and consequently, increase usage time on Facebook Messenger.

MVNOs Are Making A Comeback

You may have already heard of some of these MVNOs.

Instagram Now Has Support For Multiple Accounts

Good news, indeed, for users of Instagram! The social media giant has revealed that it now has support for use of multiple accounts, especially from within the confines of its mobile app without ever needing to sign out of one’s account. This feature is now made available starting with version 7.15 of the Instagram mobile app for both the Android and iOS mobile operating systems. Users can create a maximum of five extra accounts, and be able to manage all of them within a Instagram environment.

Bidding Goodbye To Mozilla’s Firefox OS Phones

As Microsoft can attest, challenging Google’s Android and Apple’s iOS in the world of mobile operating systems is no walk in the park. For Mozilla, it knew that its Firefox OS only had a slim chance of becoming as successful as Android or iOS. And it did not help that growth has been very, very slow in the last twelve months. When Mozilla finally ceded defeat by last week, the company itself kind of expected it.

About this Plan

The T-Mobile Unlimited Family Plan is a family cell phone plan with 2 lines offered by T-Mobile that offers unlimited minutes and text messaging, and does not require a contract. T-Mobile also allows customers on this plan to receive a phone for little to no down payment, and then pay off the phone over 24 months with small monthly payments.

This plan also offers 10GB of 4G LTE data per line, and unlimited data (slowed) after your 10GB per line is reached. (Includes up to 10GB Smartphone Mobile HotSpot data per line.)

Unlike other carriers, however, T-Mobile will not charge overage fees when customers surpass their monthly data allotment. Instead, the data the customer receives after the threshold is met is slowed down. T-Mobile also offers free unlimited international data and texting in over 140 countries worldwide and unlimited international texting from the United States to almost anywhere in the world*. The T-Mobile Unlimited Family Plan also offers everyone on the plan unlimited calling from the USA to international landlines in over 70 countries around the world for $5 per month. For $10 per month, all members of the plan get unlimited calling to mobile phones in more than 30 countries, and 1,000 minutes to cell phones in Mexico, and this includes the landline calling to 70+ countries worldwide.

T-Mobile now offers a bonus called Mobile Without Borders which allows subscribers to use their phone in Canada and Mexico just like they would in the United States, at no additional charge for calls, texts, or data.

Customers can also take advantage of Data Stash on the Simple Choice 6GB plans and up, which allows them to rollover unused high-speed data for use in the next month, and the data gets banked in a customers account for up to a year.

T-Mobile JUMP On Demand

T-Mobile also features a program they call JUMP that offers customers the opportunity to upgrade to a new smartphone up to three times per year. You can upgrade to a new phone for $0 down and pay no sales tax if you have qualifying credit, and then pay for the new cell phone over monthly payments. To upgrade, bring in your existing phone, show that it still in good working condition, and then get your new phone.

T-Mobile Smart Fit

Smart Fit is a trial offered by T-Mobile where you sign up for a $65/month rate plan and you'll get unlimited data, talk, and text on your phone in addition to 14GB of mobile hotspot data. Use your phone as you normally would for 30 days, and at the end of your first 30 days, T-Mobile will recommend a data plan for you based on your usage. If you do not select a plan based on T-Mobile's recommendation, then you'll automatically be put on the 6GB plan for $65/month. This offer is available over the phone only.
