What Type of Card should I be using?

The best choice is obviously no fee and a very low rate. Unfortunately, these two tend not to come together, as the issuers want to make a nice profit. However, you can minimize the profit they make off of you by selecting a card with costs that are minimized for the way you use your card:

I charge things, but almost always pay off the balance due each month, so I don't have to pay interest.

Recommendation
Look for cards with no annual fee. The interest rate is less important, but lower is better than higher.
I use credit cards to finance purchases and pay them off over time.

Recommendation
Look for cards with lower interest rates. If you carry large balances, the annual fee becomes less important than the rate you are paying.
