Boost Mobile’s Growing Data Plans: Giving More Data To Customers Who Pay On Time

Boost Mobile’s Growing Data Plans: Giving More Data To Customers Who Pay On Time

Sprint’s prepaid subsidiary, Boost Mobile, has just debuted new data plans. And they are generating buzz lately because of their rather unique structure. Dubbed as “Growing Data” plans, Boost Mobile’s latest offering add 500 megabytes of data to the customer’s account each time he completed three on-time payments.

Prepaid wireless carriers have been busy in the last few months enhancing their existing plans. AT&T’s prepaid arm Cricket Wireless, for instance, had expanded its international calling options to Latin America back in August earlier this year. Sprint Prepaid has also introduced a new Monthly Rolling Data scheme in June this summer. In an increasingly competitive business, it is important for carriers, even those offering prepaid services, to offer something distinct in order to differentiate themselves from the rest of the pack.

With its new Growing Data plans, Boost Mobile might have succeeded in doing just that. What Boost Mobile offers is certainly a first in the industry -- no other wireless carrier in the United States has ever offered to give customers increasing amounts of high speed data without changing the pricing.

Boost Mobile’s Growing Data plans basically consist of a couple of deals. One is the $35 a month plan that starts out with 2 gigabytes of data, while the other is the $45 a month plan that offers 5 gigabytes of data monthly. For every three on-time payments completed, any customer who is under a Growing Data plan gets to have 500 extra megabytes of data, and it accumulates:

  • After 3 on-time payments -- additional 500 megabytes
  • After 6 on-time payments -- additional 1 gigabyte
  • After 9 on-time payments -- additional 1.5 gigabytes
  • After 12 on-time payments -- additional 2 gigabytes
  • After 15 on-time payments -- additional 2.5 gigabytes
  • After 18 on-time payments -- additional 3 gigabytes

As for those who want to take advantage of Boost Mobile’s auto pay feature, the $35 a month plan’s price drops to just $30 a month. Those who have some cash to spare can opt for the $60 a month plan, which gives you unlimited and unthrottled high speed data. In addition to the Growing Data plans, Boost Mobile also has a new special offer that is good until January 3rd of next year. In this promo, customers get discounts on specific handsets:
